I graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in secondary teaching. I also finished my student teaching and I am now a licensed English teacher in grades 7-12 in America.
Working History
1. 9/2009 through 11/2011- Teaching English classes at Joong Dong High School in Kangnam, Korea. I am responsible for English Conversation Classes (total of 400 students, class sizes averaging at 35) and a special International Frontier Class, where I have created and implemented a curriculum of Novel, Short Story, Film and Poetry Units (where students studied and wrote their own examples or responses) and a Multi-Genre Unit where students created various pieces of writing for a writing portfolio. I also taught extra classes covering SAT Preparation, Speaking and Writing about Newspaper Articles and also, a Film Study course.
2. 9/2008 through 9/2009- Returned to Korea and taught classes at LCI Kids Club in Gangseo Gu. I taught kindergarten classes throughout the day and classes with older students in the afternoon. I was active in helping plan the curriculum and I was always present to help out with extra activities, setting up and directing activities for the students. The school used my class and curriculum as a sample class for the new parents thinking of putting their children in the school.
3. 3/3008 through 8/ 2008- Resumed teaching classes at Mount Saint Vincent, psychiatric treatment facility and school for abused and learning disabled children. I took over teaching a very difficult class, ages nine to twelve, of students with some the most severe problems in the facility. I am proud to say that the bahavior and academic performance of the students improved after I began teaching the class. Again, I was responsible for the lesson planning, behavior management and individual needs of the students.
4. 3/2007 through 3/2008- Taught English language classes at LCI Kids Club in Kangnam, Seoul, South Korea. I taught seven year old students the majority of the day and taught several classes of older students in the afternoon. I was responsible for the lesson planning and teaching, behavior management and individual needs of my students.
5. 5/2005 through 3/2007- Employee at Mt. St. Vincent’s residential facility. I worked in all facets of the organization, including teaching, coaching basketball, crisis management, mental health worker, and residential supervision. Taught 11 year old students in the Mt. St. Vincent summer program. In charge of academics in the classroom during the morning and functioned as the group leader at the swimming pool in the afternoons. My responsibilities included lesson planning, one on one assistance with children, behavior management, and swimming instruction. Underwent TCI, CPI, First Aid, and CPR training.
6. Spring semester, 2006- Student teaching at Standley Lake High School. Worked for one semester as an English teacher for students in grades nine and eleven. Worked extensively with lesson planning, direct instruction, minimal behavior management, and communicating with parents about their children’s progress in the classroom.
7. Spring semester, 2005- Field experience as teaching assistant at Arvada West High School. I assisted three English teachers with lesson planning, teaching, one on one assistance with students, and grading papers.
8. Spring semester, 2004- Field experience as teaching assistant at Horace Mann Middle School. I assisted in an English classroom with lesson planning, one on one assistance with students, and grading papers.
9. 6/2001 through 5/2002- Worked as a teaching assistant in a first and second grade special education classroom at Southmoor Elementary in the DPS system. Underwent TCI, CPI, First Aid, and CPR training. Worked individually with students and assisted with behavior management.
10. 6/2001 through 7/2003- Coached two Little League baseball teams in the Jefferson County public league. Functioned as assistant and head coach at times. Worked individually with players mostly helping with pitching and batting techniques.
11. Summer 2002- Pitching coach on a level A baseball team at Pomona High School. Worked with players one on one with pitching technique.

I have extensive experience in classrooms working with children, some learning disabled and with major psychological drawbacks, in America and Korea, well versed with computers (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), multiple TCI, CPI, First Aid and CPR trainings, excellent with children, passionate about teaching.
